Presentation

MUCTA aims at closing the existing gap between technical education for architecture and the work needed for professionals from the building sector. The strategy consists on providing a solid technical background in constructive systems, essential to the process of effective building design and construction. Architectural design and constructive systems definition are the main thematic areas of knowledge included in the Master degree program, but blended as just one broader knowledge field. The objective of this knowledge mixtures is to provide the necessary education and training to make the technicians able of playing a relevant role inside the large architecture offices, currently expanding. The study concentrates in analysing the different building types, which are the most extended, namely collective housing, transport infrastructures, working spaces ... The analysis deepens into their different technical aspects. The teaching modules focus on the most determining aspects of actual buildings: the contemporary constructive systems, the building intervention techniques, the energy efficiency aspects and the building project management.
